April 01, 2023: In the opening match of 16th edition of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans opened their winning account by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. Shubman Gill anchored the 179-run chase with a superb knock defeating Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in the opening match of IPL 2023. Gill scored 63 off only 36 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes.
Gujarat Giants captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mohd Shami bowled the first over of the match, whose first ball was a dot and gave two runs in the first over.
The first four of the match came from the bat of Rituraj Gaikwad on the ball of Hardik Pandya while Shami got the first wicket of the match of Kanve who was by clean bowled for 1 run.
The first six of the match was also hit by Rituraj Gaikwad on the ball of Joshua Little while the first no ball of the match was bowled by Mohammed Shami in the third ball of his fourth over.
