June 06, 2023: With an aim to connect at least one member of every family with employment, the Yogi government has released the online portal https://familyid.up.gov.in to get ‘Family ID – One Family One Identity’. All such families who are not eligible for the National Food Security Scheme, I.e., who do not have a ration card, would be able to make a family ID, while families having ration card would be considered as their family ID.
As per directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a unique identity is to be issued to each family under the ‘One Family One Identity’ scheme, thereby establishing a live comprehensive database of family units of the state. This database would be helpful in better management of beneficiary schemes, ensuring transparency and cent percent availability of benefit of the scheme to the eligible persons.
On the basis of integrated database obtained through Parivar ID, families deprived of employment can be identified for providing suitable employment opportunities on priority. While reviewing the progress of family ID in the past, the Chief Minister has also given instructions to prepare family passbook. The family passbook would be prepared showing full details of the benefits of government schemes being received by each family.
With this, the campaign of self-reliance and empowerment of every family of the state will be completed. All the information regarding the family will be duly authenticated before issue of pass-book and family ID.
A total of 3.61 crore families will now have to get their family ID made. At present, 15.06 crore people of about 3.61 crore families, living in Uttar Pradesh are receiving benefits of National Food Security Scheme. As per the system applicable for Family ID, the ration card number of these families will be the Family ID.
Families not covered by the National Food Security Scheme, who are not eligible for ration cards, will be provided with Family ID through the Family ID portal https://familyid.up.gov.in/portal/index.html. This portal is developed to provide 12 digit unique family ID to those families who are not ration card holders.
Family ID will be convenient to get the benefits of government schemes in future. Families who are not taking advantage of government schemes can also voluntarily obtain Family ID. So far, 78 thousand applications have been received on the portal, out of which 37 thousand applications have been approved. According to the action plan made for the family ID project, the database of various departments will be linked to this portal which in turn would ensure that there was no need to scan and upload the desired records while applying for various government schemes.
