He came, he bowled and joined the elite maiden debut over club. India’ latest pace sensation, 22-year-old Mayank Yadav joined the club of Indian bowlers who had bowled a maiden in their debut over in T20 international cricket on Sunday.

The pacer, while making his debut in international T20cricket, bowled his first over as a maiden against Bangladesh at New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior while bowling the sixth over of the match.

Elite club of Indian bowlers

With his extra ordinaly achievement, Mayank Yadav joined the elite club of Indian bowlers who had earlier achieved the feat including AB Agarkar (2006), KK Ahmed (2018), Arshdeep Singh (2022) and Navdeep Saini (2019).

In his second over, which was India’s eighth over, Mayank cracked his first international wicket by sending Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah back to the pavilion. Mahmudullah was caught by Washington Sundar at deep point.

During his spell in the debut match, Mayank’s fastest delivery was recorded at 149.9 kmph.

In IPL, Mayank’s fastest delivery has been recorded at 156.7 kmph against Royal Challenger Bengaluru in 2024 season.

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) in a post of X mentioned “That’s some start to Mayank Yadav’s International career He starts off with a maiden.”

Mayank set to walk into IPL’s ‘Million Dollar Club’

India’s 156.7 kmph Sensation Mayank Yadav seems all set to turn into ‘Million Dollar’ Man. As per IPL retention rules, any ‘uncapped player’, who makes his international debut in any of the three formats before the auctions will be elevated to ‘capped player’ category.

According to report, Yadav is set to walk into the IPL ‘Million Dollar Club’ after making his T20I debut against Bangladesh on Sunday, with Lucknow Super Giants requiring a minimum Rs 11 crore (USD 1.31 million) to retain his services for the next season. Similarly, Sunrisers.

India Equal Pakistan’s Massive World Record

The incredible performance from India’s bowling unit saw them equal the world record for the most times a team had bowled out an opposition in the T20I format of the game. India have now achieved an all-out in 42 matches, only to equal their arch rival Pakistan’s all-time record till now.

Other teams with their all-out performances in the list include Pakistan (42), New Zealand (40), Uganda (35) and West Indies (32) respectively.
