Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi seems to be giving a run to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his rising popularity and social acceptance. On Wednesday he boarded a DTC bus and interacted with DTC drivers, conductors and marshals near Sarojini Nagar bus depot. During the interaction, he queried about the problems faced by contract employees of DTC. Giving a patient hearing to the problems of employees, Rahul Gandhi assured for raising their important demands in Parliament.

After meeting the employees, Rahul Gandhi traveled in a low floor DTC bus. During the journey, common passengers were also present with him. People talked to Rahul Gandhi and also took selfies with him.

Officials of DTC Employees Unity Union informed that employees shared their problems with Rahul Gandhi, who enquired in detail on various problems plaguing their smooth living. The employees said that they had been working on contract for many years, despite which, their services had not yet been confirmed. At the same time, not a single government bus had been included in the DTC fleet for a long time. On this, the CongressMP from Raebareli assured them that the issues would be raised in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra posted pictures of Rahul’s conversation on X. She stated that how would the drivers, conductors and marshals who ran the transport corporation with thousands of buses in public service, run their own houses? How would they run their lives amidst inflation, rising fees of children, stress over salary and pension? She further said that there are crores of such voices in the country, who are forced to live in terrible economic insecurity. It is important to listen to their Mann Ki Baat also, she added.
