Yogi government goes tough, removes UP Police Recruitment Board chairperson

In yet another major decision after cancellation of the preliminary examination of Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently, the state government has removed the UP Police Recruitment Board chairperson DG Renuka Mishra in the issue of leaking of written examination paper of constable recruitment.

As per sources, the decision to remove her had been taken on the basis of wrong selection of printing press entrusted with the task of printing question paper of written examination, hesitation in filing of FIR and delay in submitting the report of internal investigation committee of the board.

She has been kept in waiting and has been replaced by DG Vigilance Rajeev Krishna. STF teams busy investigating the operators, employees, security personnel etc. of the printing press could soon, if sources were to be believed, lodge an FIR against the printing press owners. In the investigation conducted so far, some evidence of paper leaking from the printing press is alleged to be found.

Re-examination within six months

The written examination for constable recruitment was held on February 17 and 18 in all 75 districts of UP. Post reports of leaking of question paper of the same, the UP government canceled the examination besides issued directives for holding of re-examination within six months period.

UP STF arrested the accused

UP STF had arrested two more accused on March 2 and had reportedly recovered admit cards and other important documents from them. An FIR had been registered in the case at Vibhutikhand police station. The arrested accused include Ajay Singh and Sonu Singh Yadav of Prayagraj.

About 50 lakh youth of the state had participated in the constable recruitment examination which was conducted in two shifts. On March 1, STF had arrested another accused Kapil Tomar, resident of village Begmabad Garhi Baghpat, near Pushta police post of Loni.
